For capacitor manufacturers under cost and reliability pressure

When rejections rise, the film is the hardest variable to rule out.

Reliability is roughly 80 percent process and 20 percent raw material, yet the raw material half has never come with data you can examine. A short video on what changes when it does.

The short version

Watch: where the variation actually comes from, and how to prove it

A walk through the film line itself, showing the points where two rolls of the same grade stop behaving the same way, and what has to be measured to settle the question.

Plays on mute · no sign up

What you will see
  • Why two rolls that meet the same specification can still run differently on your line.
  • The properties that actually move batch to batch, and the ones that only appear to.
  • What a per lot record lets you rule out before you touch the process.

Runs on every lot we ship

Polymet Films is built for capacitor engineering, quality and procurement teams evaluating film suppliers on transparency, traceability and risk.
A letter from the founder

Dear valued partner,

I am writing this personally because, for many years, I sat exactly where you are sitting now, on the procurement and quality engineering side, dealing with metallised film suppliers.

I understand the frustration of receiving vague answers, inconsistent data and the general black box approach that has become an unfortunate norm in our industry. I experienced the same challenges, the same lack of transparency and the same struggle to get the full picture needed to make informed decisions and protect quality, reliability and performance.

That perspective is why I founded Polymet Films on a different philosophy: openness, comprehensive data and genuine partnership. You deserve to see every variable, understand every lot and gain certainty in your supply chain. This site shares our full story and how we are changing the game.

Warmly, Mohit Rai Goyal Founder, Polymet Films Private Limited
A new standard of transparency

Judge us by one standard: everything here, we can show you data for.

Read this with an open mind. What we offer, in the end, is simple, and every claim on this site is a record you can ask to see.

Fewer rejections, less wastage

Optimise your production lines with material that performs consistently, reducing costly rework and scrap on your machines.

More value per minute

Free your engineers to focus on innovation rather than firefighting untraceable failures or chasing elusive data.

Data driven process growth

Use detailed lot level insight to improve your own process, lot after lot, for predictable and scalable results.

Better OEM customers, faster

Build an unshakeable reputation with OEMs. When your capacitors never fail, their trust becomes your greatest asset.

We built the metallising partner we wished we had. Let us show you.
Operating principle

System driven, not person driven.

Why we existManufacturers should never hope their film is good. They should know it, standardised so they never have to compensate.
How we operateCorporate governed rather than artisanal. Transparent rather than opaque. Controlled rather than heroic.
What we builtEvery process controlled, every lot traceable, every measurement recorded, every customer given real time visibility.

You are not buying film. You are buying a controlled system that produces standardised film.

You are not choosing a film supplier. You are choosing to remove supplier uncertainty from your business.

Five phases. Twelve weeks. No obligation at any stage. Start with a thirty minute portal demo, see what real data looks like, and decide whether we fit.

Problem

The hidden risk inside every capacitor batch.

Most film suppliers deliver a datasheet or a basic test report in PDF, not the data behind it. For engineering teams that gap is not a minor inconvenience. It is a compounding liability that touches materials, process control, safety and failure analysis.

Traceability stops at the datasheet

Suppliers hand customers a specification sheet, not the underlying data. You receive the same plain report every buyer receives, with no batch wise breakdown.

Raw material variability goes undocumented

Base film sourcing and vendor quality shift batch to batch. Without shared documentation you have no mechanism to correlate material differences with observed performance. The link is invisible.

Process drift is nobody's job to watch

Critical parameters are typically validated through small sample spot checks rather than continuous monitoring. A drift between checks goes undetected until it surfaces as a field event.

Field failures become guessing games

When a capacitor underperforms downstream, your team cannot determine whether the root cause was material, process drift or design, because the data trail does not exist. Every investigation starts from zero.

Let us understand it

What a black box actually hides.

When there is no data to connect the dots, everything below the surface stays invisible. You see the output. You never see what produced it.

Observed outputs The certificate you are handed
Opaque decisions Release calls made on memory, not data
Hidden models Machine settings never disclosed
Data biases Only the easy parameters get tested
Systemic causes Lot to lot variation nobody records
When a failure appears you hear the same answer every time: same raw material, same machine, same BOPP, no difference found, check your own capacitor process. The failure lives inside a black box and nobody will open it for you.
The story on the factory floor

How the complaint loop closes on itself.

01

Failure reported

You flag a quality issue with the film supplier and open an investigation.

02

Same raw material

The supplier defends: same BOPP, same machine, no difference found anywhere.

03

Check your process

Blame is redirected to your line. The capacitor process is more complex, but that does not mean the cause sits there.

04

No root cause

The investigation stalls. A louder complaint arrives, the old one is quietly archived, and the pattern repeats.

Meanwhile your operators quietly compensate, your costing sheet never reflects true lot to lot variation, and your reputation with OEMs absorbs the risk in silence.

The cost of an unproven diagnosis

Upgrading the film is not a diagnosis. It is a hedge, priced into every kilogram.

When no one can demonstrate where the variation originated, specifying a premium grade becomes the safest available decision. It often reduces the symptom. It also raises landed cost on every order, and the underlying question stays open.

01

Variation appears without an evident cause

Output quality drifts. Process records and material records sit in separate systems, so no one can correlate the two, and the conversation moves to opinion rather than evidence.

02

The film becomes the working assumption

The film is the most critical input and the only one supplied without underlying data. It becomes the default explanation, whether or not it is the cause.

03

Cost rises, the question stays open

A premium grade is specified. Manufacturing cost rises and margin narrows, while the actual source of the variation remains unconfirmed and can recur at any point.

Capacitor reliability is roughly 80 percent your process and 20 percent your raw material. Optimising your 80 percent requires raw material data that has simply never been available. That is the part we changed.

Impact

What opacity costs your reliability and R&D teams.

The absence of batch level transparency does not stay contained inside the quality department. It propagates through root cause workflows, R&D cycles, safety exposure and programme economics, adding cost and delay at every stage.

Operational drag

Root cause analysis slows to a crawl

Without batch level process and test records, diagnosing a field failure means reverse engineering the problem from scratch while production schedules wait.

R&D duplicates work already done

Reliability teams re-run raw material and process tests just to reproduce data that should have been shared from day one, burning engineering hours on rediscovery.

Risk and cost exposure

Undetected drift raises safety exposure

If key parameters shift without anyone noticing in real time, the risk of in field failure climbs, translating directly into warranty claims, potential recalls and reputational damage.

The trust gap gets expensive

To compensate for unreliable vendor data, buyers over engineer safety margins and qualify redundant suppliers, adding cost and stretching time to market on every programme.

The true cost of variation
The real problemThin margins on a commoditised product. When thickness or diameter varies, your team compensates manually.
The mechanismA 10 µm deviation can force roughly 10 g of extra material per unit, which never enters the cost calculation. The lot quietly becomes unprofitable.
The differenceControlled variation gives predictable material and removes compensation. Your team runs production instead of firefighting.

Even at ₹5 to ₹10 per kilogram, standardisation pays for itself immediately through eliminated waste.

Solution

Five pillars of full stack transparency.

Transparency is not a PDF attached to a shipment. It is a systematic commitment built into documentation standards, data sharing protocols, production monitoring and customer access, so that your engineering decisions are faster and better evidenced.

Pillar 01

Ownership, definition, checklists, cadence

Every critical process has one accountable owner and a trained backup. Every step is specified, version controlled and run against a digital checklist. A step not ticked is a step not done.

Pillar 02

Complete documentation, every batch

Every batch ships with a full documentation package: base film reports, original vendor documentation, our internal test results and the exact process parameters used during production. No gaps, no selective disclosure.

Pillar 03

Data built for your R&D, not just our QA

We share raw material testing results alongside our own process settings, giving your reliability and R&D teams the full dataset to analyse how specific parameters affect performance. No reverse engineering required.

Pillar 04

Governed quality with real authority

An independent quality function with the authority to hold any lot and stop any line. Defined roles, a monthly review board, and a complaint that stays open until it reaches a verified root cause.

Pillar 05

All of it, in one place

Every report, test result and process parameter is accessible through a dedicated customer portal: structured, searchable and available on demand. No chasing emails, no waiting on quality teams.

Pillar 06

Infrastructure and supply chain resilience

Calibrated and preventively maintained equipment, cross trained operators, an in house lab, condition controlled storage and tested disaster recovery. Reliability by structure, not by heroics.

Pillar 02 in detail

The GlassBox standard

Every variable, every lot.

Material behaviour varies from lot to lot and that is inevitable. Understanding the variation is how the dots finally connect between your process outcomes, your film inputs and the endurance results your OEMs demand. We hand you our half of the picture.

Raw material data

Critical parameters of the base BOPP film, with fully transparent label traceability from raw material receipt to production entry. You see exactly what went in.

Metallising process data

Vacuum levels, line speed, tension settings, deposition rates. Everything we measure during metallising, locked to your specific lot. No gaps, no summaries.

Endurance outcomes aligned

Results aligned value by value through the entire process chain. Your own process data stays on your computer, fully under your control. We do not need it and we never ask for it.

Your data belongs to you. We simply hand you our half, the half no supplier has ever shown, so your engineering teams can finally connect the dots. Please refer to your company data security policy before using any AI tool on it.

Call to action

One portal. Total visibility. Zero guesswork.

The standard in film sourcing has been to accept whatever a supplier chooses to share. The alternative is a supplier that structures transparency as a core deliverable, giving your team the data foundation to move faster, qualify with confidence and reduce downstream risk at the source.

The ask is low commitment: access the portal, review one batch of documentation, and judge the transparency standard for yourself before any sourcing decision is made.

Recommended next step

Request portal access and review the complete documentation package from your next qualification batch, before you commit.

01

Request portal access

We provision a dedicated login tied to your account and qualification programme, usually within one business day.

02

Review qualification batch documentation

Inspect base film reports, vendor documentation, process parameters and monitoring logs for an actual production batch. No login wall, no filtered view.

03

Evaluate and decide

Compare the data depth to your current supplier's disclosures, share it with your quality and process engineering teams, then make an informed sourcing decision.

See what your current supplier will not show you

Batch level base film reports, vendor documentation and exact process parameters, all accessible through a single login, every batch, without a data request.

Turn our data into your advantage

Use our raw material and process datasets to accelerate your own R&D and reliability roadmaps, eliminating the redundant test cycles that consume your engineering capacity today.

Reduce risk at the source

Monitored parameters during production mean fewer surprises in the field and fewer emergency root cause investigations after a failure event.
